This role is open to candidates based in the UK or the Netherlands.
Reddit is where people come to discover, research, and discuss products that inform their purchasing decisions. Shopping, across advertising and organic experiences, is a high priority for the company, and product catalogs are foundational to that work.
We are looking for an Engineering Manager to lead Reddit’s Product Catalogs team. You will lead a full-stack engineering team responsible for the infrastructure and advertiser-facing experiences that help thousands of advertisers onboard, organize, and manage millions of products. Your team will build intuitive UIs, robust APIs, and scalable backend systems for catalog ingestion, storage, and product data management.
These systems power Dynamic Product Ads (DPA) and organic shopping, connecting users with relevant products in the context of their interests and conversations. Someone browsing r/golf might discover popular golf clubs, while someone reading a discussion about sunglasses in r/BuyItForLife might see the exact models being discussed. Your team will make it easier for advertisers to bring their products to Reddit and participate in these moments of discovery.
In this role, you will set technical direction, develop engineers, and drive execution across the catalog platform and advertiser experience. You will work closely with cross-functional partners to understand customer needs and make catalog onboarding and management seamless. You will also partner with Reddit’s Knowledge Graph teams to support organic shopping experiences.
This role calls for strong technical judgment, people leadership, and a focus on customer needs. It is based in Reddit’s Amsterdam or London office, with a team working across European time zones.
Responsibilities:
• Create a world class catalogs system that can scale to support billions of products
• Work closely with product managers and designers to craft compelling user experiences
• Collaborate with a wide range of teams from Ad Formats to Ad Delivery to ensure successful end-to-end delivery of product ads
• Establish and manage to SLAs within your team
• Be a strong mentor and cross-functional advocate for your team
• Contribute meaningfully to team strategy. We give everyone a seat at the table and encourage active participation in planning for the future. Don’t just come along for the ride.
Required Qualifications:
• 7+ years of experience in backend or full stack product development
• 2+ years of experience managing engineering teams
• You're highly technical, enough to solve almost any problem your team has yourself, but you prefer to guide your team into solving them.
• Ability to work independently. You’ll be working with stakeholders that are mostly based in North America. You need to be able to make decisions and solve problems autonomously.
• Excellent communication skills. You must be able to collaborate effectively with teams in a fully-remote environment and discuss complex topics with technical and non-technical audiences.
Benefits:
• Global Benefit programs that fit your lifestyle, from workspace to professional development to caregiving support
• Family Planning Support
• Gender-Affirming Care
• Mental Health & Coaching Benefits
• Group Personal Pension Scheme with Employer match
• Private Medical and Dental Scheme
• Income Replacement Programs
• Bike to Work scheme
• Flexible Vacation & Paid Volunteer Time Off
• Generous Paid Parental Leave
